Brampton Bierlow - I have a great granduncle,Thomas Payling, coalminer living in what were described as 36 Concrete Houses (cottages) Brampton Bierlow in 1881 Census. Is anyone able to give me the general area (map location) in which these cottages were located? Is anyone aware of any photos on file anywhere? Also if anyone can advise which pit he would have been employed in a to qualify for such housing? Rawmarsh - I have a ggf and family, all coal miners living at Oak Terrace, off Green Lane Rawmarsh (no longer there?) I have located position on an old OS map but would like to know if anyone has come across any photos of the area in their research? Thanks in anticipation.
