    2. Hi Lynne: I think the following is correct (but feel free to correct me if I am wrong) ... The earliest census was about 1841 but useful information wasn't really provided until 1851,61,71,81,91,1901 censuses were taken. For earlier records you have to go through parish records, bishops transcripts, etc. If you are looking for something specific, why don't you pose a question to the list and see what kind of help listers might be able to provide?
