    3. Hi Sandra, Thanks for such a prompt response!! I am not aware of a Dearne Valley Payling from 1940 but my own family were overseas for a number of years during this period so I do not have much information other than for my direct paternal line. Thanks for the clues I will obviously have to do some more research. regards, Duncan Payling, Melbourne Australia Thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Davies" <sandalan@ntlworld.com> To: <ENG-ROTHERHAM-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2003 6:16 PM Subject: Re: [ROTH] Pailing/Paling/Payling > Hi Duncan.Have looked on the index and all i can find is a JAMES PAYLING > age 20 born in LINCOLN living in BRAMPTON BRIERLOW,nothing under any other > spellings, there is a COBB family listed in RAWMARSH,did you have a PAYLING > in the DEARNE VALLEY area in the 1940`s that stood for > parliament?..........regards Sandra > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "duncan payling" <duncanp@bigpond.net.au> > To: <ENG-ROTHERHAM-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2003 9:00 AM > Subject: [ROTH] Pailing/Paling/Payling > > > > G'day Sandra and Alan > > Yes please! > > Just wondered if my mob had made it to Rotherham area earlier than 1881 > > census which shows my ggf John Payling (Ag Lab from Fulbeck Lincs)/ ggm > > Sarah nee Cobb living at 28 Oak Terrace, Green Lane Rawmarsh along side > his > > sister in law Mary Cobb.
