Hello to the Listers. I was born in Maltby in 1927. In my early Teens during the WW2 years we lived at Hellaby.and I have treasured memories of my life there and at times regret leaving the area. I realize there have been many changes over the years, At the intersection of Bawtry RD & the left side of Hellaby Lane there used to be an old stone house there,. Could anyone please tell me if that old house is still standing there today . Half way down the hill at Hellaby on the right hand side of the road going towards Maltby there used to be four old stone cottages, Are they still there as well??. My interest in the place is that recently I found out that My Grandfather as a seventeen year old worked as a Servant at Hellaby Hall along with his younger brother. in the late 1880's and other family members lived in the Hellaby Cottages. , As a 10 year old I used to go to Hellaby Hall as I had friends that lived there in those days.
