(born 1840 in Wickersley) in about 1860/61 in either Wickersley area or Lincoln. Joseph's parents were John HUNTER (born c1800) and Ann ARMSTEAD (born 1808) married 26th September 1825 in Wath on Dearne - Ann was born in Wath on Dearne to Robert ARMSTEAD (born c1780) and Hannah MILNES (born c1780) - Robert and Hannah were married in Wath on Dearne on 2nd June 1806. Hi all, i am interested in the Bloor family name, in the Rotherham area. i have traced back to James Bloor born around 1795, married Mary Hudson in Wath on Dearne Dec 1st 1819. i have a couple of questions to anyone in the group, as i am relatively new to the geneology game. Hello....have just signed on in the hopes that I can find some help with the following family as they appeared in the 1841 census of Rotherham: Radley Row, Rotherham Enum Dist. 3 JAMES COATES - Age 40 - Laborer ANN COATES - Age 45 - wife EDWARD COATES - Age 15 - son The 1851, 1861 and 1871 census' tell me that they lived in Wellgate, Rotherham and that James was born in Holmes, Masbrough, Ann in Greasbrough and Edward in Masbrough. I haven't found a satisfactory marriage in the IGI and my biggest problem is that there should have been another son, GEORGE COATES b. 1829 whom I can't find either. I have a feeling that ANN may have been his second wife and perhaps George was with the Grandparents in 1841 (whoever they were)..
