Andrew, Many thanks again for your efforts in producing BMD's announcements from the Malton Messenger-much appreciated by many people all over the world I would imagine. I have a question that has perplexed me from some time and maybe you or another lister could provide an answer. The Malton Messenger mainly covers locals (and various places within a few miles) but have noticed that this is not always the case. I appreciate that perhaps dignitaries from further afield and folk who have moved to other parts of the country might get a mention. However on occasions a solitary edition of the Messenger might include a spate of entries from a single place not that close to Malton. For example the 11th June 1864 has 7 marriages and 2 deaths from Middlesbrough. Why would that be? Any ideas anybody? Thanks again on behalf of many, David Drake (researching in Malton-DRAKE, JEWITT, BELL, with peripheral interest in TAYLOR, MILESTONE, YOUNG, CLARKE, STOCKDALE, DODGSON, GIBSON)
