Local papers had correspondents from local places which fed them the information for the births, marriages and deaths. Obviously for this edition the Middlesborough/Stokesley correspondent handed them the week's events. Sometimes the correspondent for Ripon is very active. It is easy to spot the weeks when the correspondent for the area is active. A few years ago from 1864, I noticed there were lots of entries from Whitby, but these have now dried up. Obviously the Whitby correspondent has ceased sending them. As to entries from further afield. Usually there is some sort of connection with the Malton area. Maybe the person used to live in the area or they have connections.
