Will you be able to produce an index alphabetically ie database of all the surnames from your Malton Press work?? Rob and William
I am afraid that is too much work! There may be a way to do it more automatically in the future, but it would have to be a fairly intelligent software program to extract the names. If you want to search the past names the easiest way is to use the Yorkshire Genuki search engine. http://wwwsearch.ox.ac.uk/cgi-bin/gensel?genukiyks All my past postings from 1854, including my just completed 1864 is available on the following link thanks to the good work of Colin Hinson with his excellent GENUKI site: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/index.html#Newspapers Andy Sefton Pocklington -----Original Message----- From: Cattellsearch@aol.com [mailto:Cattellsearch@aol.com] Sent: 25 May 2003 14:08 To: ENG-NORTH-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [N'Yorks] To Andy Sefton Will you be able to produce an index alphabetically ie database of all the surnames from your Malton Press work??
