Hello Ruth, Thank-you for the reply. Some-one else said the same thing. Then again, another lady said people felt that if they received a congratulatory card, they would then be obligated to write a thank-you letter to each one. My thought was, that maybe it was a religious reason, where people may have felt it was too frivolous to receive fancy cards, as per. Quakers. Its a puzzle !! Regards, Pam.
