On the subject of spellings. I've recently been searching for an Ann Carser, (name from child's birth cert)but couldn't find her any where. I obtained a certificate for another of her children where she was shown as Ann Carr. I've come to the conclusion that when asked her maidene name she repiled "Ann Carr, sir" ! Jo
