Hi, Please will someone offer me suggestions as to where I look next for Elias HARTLEY He was born in Knaresborough, baptised 24 July 1803. Married Rhoda SWIFT on26 November 1823. Three known children Elizabeth, Thomas and William (b.28/10/1836). Rhoda died in Leeds Infimary 1840. The 1841 Census for Knaresborough shows Elizabeth and Thomas living with their grandmother Elizabeth Nothing more on Elias. So - did he remarry and move away? Was he in jail for the Census? Was he in hospital? The only positive knowledge I have is that he was dead in 1871 when William married. There is an Eli Hartley who died June qtr 1852 in Bradford and an Eli Hartley who died in June qtr 1853 in Keighley. Where would the records be kept?
