Hello margaret, In my book there are no Carvers but there are five Wards. This is only one book out of many and they are miners and their associates all the entries are taken from local newspapers. Ward Hannah Lofthouse Assaulted. 9th November 1866 Assaulted by Abraham Douglas. Ward John Presentation. Presented with a gold watch and chain on leaving the district, by his numerous friends many of whom are workmen engaged at Boosbeck Mines. Ward Kate, Guisborough Drunk. 28th July 1883 Well known drunk sent to prison for one month's hard labour, for being drunk and disorderly at Guisborough. Ward Kate, Release 25th Aug 1883 Released from prison just charged with being drunk in Westgate Guisborough. Convicted 14 times in past six years. Sent to prison for one month with hard labour. Ward Robert Marske Miner Firing guns 23rd Nov. 1866 Severely reprimanded and ordered to pay 4s 6d costs for firing guns on highway at Marske on 5thNovember. That's all there is in this book.
