    3. Hi, The Middlesbrough Poor Law Union was opened on the corner of St Barnabas Rd and Ayresome Green Lane in 1875. Before this Middlesbrough was part of the Stockton Poor Law Union. I don't think there were any other institutions in the town in 1881.
