Hello listers all: Since I've been on this list for some time, many of you will at some time have helped me with my research, so I'd like to update you on my email address change, courtesy of AT&T which sold off its broadband Internet service to Comcast. Thus my old address, martinwill2@attbi.com has been replaced by martinwill2@comcast.net. Please make a note of it for future reference (or flag this email and save it.) I have a number of photos taken around the Portsmouth area and the Whitby Area that are available for free download. Please let me know if you are interested. Old print of St. Mary's Kingston (the first Norman church there, 1769) Interiors of St. Mary's Fratton Road Portsea (present Church) St. Thomas Church, Old Portsmouth (cathedral) exteriors and interiors All Saints Church, Portsmouth (near Dickens birthplace) Whitby Abbey St. Mary's Church, Whitby Staithes Goathland Fylingdales, 1969 Sawdon (the village near Brompton by Sawdon) Egton and Glaisdale My Devon interests (many migrated to Hampshire in 1760-1790's): CONN, COOPER, HEARLE, WILLCOCKS, poss. SQUIRE, MAY My Hampshire interests are: BOUND, CARTER, CHALKLEY, CLEMENTS, CONN, CONNELL, COOPER, GUMB, KEMP, LOVELESS, MAY, OSBORNE, PHILLIPS, RICHARDSON, SMITH, SQUIRE, WILLCOCKS, YOUNG For those SMITH addicts, the only one I have is Sarah Ann SMITH, who married Louis Squire WILLCOCKS late 1800's - their niece Olive M. PHILLIPS was at their residence in 1891 census. The only YOUNG I know of is Elizabeth YOUNG, who married William WILLCOCKS in 1825. Ann RICHARDSON married John Nelson Conn WILLCOCKS in 1833. Maria OSBORNE married Samuel WILLCOCKS in 1835. These three WILLCOCKS's were brothers, sons of Robert WILLCOCKS and Mary Ann CONN, both born in Devon (Devonport area) and married at St. Mary's Portsea in 1797. Harriet GUMB married Samuel WILLCOCKS (jr.) in 1854 and Elizabeth CHALKLEY married William Robert WILLCOCKS in Alverstoke in 1845. Meanwhile, Henry John WILLCOCKS and Julia SQUIRE got married in 1852 at All Saints, Portsea. (Thanks, Knightroots!) His brother, Samuel (jr.) was present. Thomas CONNELL married Charlotte CLEMENTS, while William MAY married her sister Mary Ann CLEMENTS, four days apart in March 1854. Edmund SQUIRE married one of six possible Sarah KEMPs in 1826 (Jan 8) at St. Mary's Portsea, but I don't yet know which one! And in 1880 Edmund Squire WILLCOCKS married Alice Ann MAY, whose older sister Mary J MAY married a seaman LOVELESS that I haven't yet traced. Arthur Squire WILLCOCKS married Edith Maud CARTER in Windsor, 1895, so she probably wasn't a Hampshire lass! My North Yorks interests are: HILL, LAW(S), SAWDON, WELLBURN, WINSPEAR Martin Willcocks Salt Lake City, UT, USA.
