Hi my name is lisa day and im researching my father's side of the family my late grandmother was a florence hilda sollitt born 1912 guisborough. My grandmother had two sister's edna and kathy and two brother's raymond and bernard. RAYMOND was adopted by the family. I was having a look at the 1901 census and found an ernest sollitt from guisborough age 17 and was a miner inside. MY father has told me that his mother florence's father was a miner and died very young. The family in the depression years moved to cambridgeshire for work and settled in chatteris/wisbech,peterborough area's. When their father died their mother annie sollitt nee gamblin married for the second time to a ? parish. The sollitt family were salvation army people if that makes it easier to work out if your related.
