Thanks for your input, Anthony did not emigrate although the STYAN family he married into did - Emma's brothers. They are still there now, and hold STYAN reunions in America and Canada. I have an email contact in Canada, Ken STYAN a 6 times removed cousin who is very helpful. Anthony and Emma went on to have my father Charles, Isabella and William in Gateshead Durham. My problem is, I am beginning to think I might have researched the wrong Anthony. The one I have researched is from Watermillock in Cumberland back to 1751. Thank you for your idea. I have joined the list to see if there is anybody who might offer other comments or help. A lady from the Rootsweb1901 list, found the odd numbers of Ashton Street Gateshead for me on the 1901 Census but the family were not there. Gateshead Library have already checked there for me for the 1901 Census. Douglas KITCHEN died there aged 5 in May 1901 and my father Charles was born there in January 1902. Noreen
