    3. Hello Joanne, Thank you for your reply to my request. We don't have such postcodes here in New Zealand Street number and name and town suffices, although I am aware that some places do require them to be used. I shall have a look at the site you suggest and see what I can find, otherwise I'll take the chance and write to the address I have been given and hope. Recently, I have written two letters on "spec" and received very friendly and helpful replies. I am getting closer to finding living people with whom I share the same ancestry.     3. Hi Ailsa, actually NZ does have postal codes, you will see them on your bank statement & power bill. However they are only required to be used in bulk mailing, which is why corporates use them, NZ Post appearently has very advanced optical character readers that negate need for postal codes for mail sorting. Hint, in those sites (particularly North American ones), that require you to put in a zip code, you can either put in the real one or make one up, it does not matter.
