Hi Lynn, As Charles Russell said he and I are both researching the surname Russell in the North Riding of Yorkshire. I don't recognise your James Russell or Hannah, though I have a few Hannah Russells in my family but not at Stokesley. Have you found Hannah on any of the census? Do you know roughly when James Russell, Hannah's father, was lost at sea? If her father was a captain then he may have had a master's ticket, he should have had one but not all "captains" bothered with them in the early days. The LDS have films of Masters Tickets details etc., and there is a helpful website dealing with mariner information and how to find out about them at. http://www.mariners-l.co.uk/ have a read of this site to gain some insight into the subject. You will also find that the LDS have films of the Bishops Transcripts for Stokesley and you could order the relevant film to check the details of that baptism you found on the IGI for Hannah.
