    3. hi I have the 1861 census index for yorks in the course of preperation by the East yorks fam his socc. about 80% complete and already there are more than enough candidates for your ancestor. I think you will have to give her fathers name to identify is it from the marriage details. even then as there are a number of janes not living with their parents to make it straightforward. It might be better to look at the 1851 census but so long before they may not be anywhere near. Thompson and its variant names is in the top 20 of english surnames and those amonst the most difficult to trace kind regards John Ferguson ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeannine Labelle" <labelle7453@rogers.com> To: <ENG-NORTH-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 1:46 AM Subject: [N'Yorks] THOMPSON - Kirkbymoorside > Hello, > I was wondering if anyone has access to the 1851 and 1861 census for Kirkbymoorside, and would be able to do a lookup for me. > I am trying to find the parents and possible siblings of Jane THOMPSON. I have the following information for her. On Dec 11 1862 Jane THOMPSON gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth. At this time she resided at Dale End, Kirkbymoorside, and would be about 19 years old. She was not married at this time. Jane THOMPSON eventually married John WRIGHT of Helmsley. > > Thank You, > Jeannine Labelle, > Canada > > > ==== ENG-NORTH-YORKS Mailing List ==== > Have you visited the *NEW* RootsWeb/Ancestry Message Boards yet? 3. Hi John, Thanks for your suggestions regarding Jane THOMPSON. I haven't been able to find the GRO index for her marriage so I don't have a marriage certificate. I am just working from the 1881 census and the birth certificate of her daughter. Thanks again, Jeannine ----- Original Message ----- From: "john ferguson" <fergy@fergy.karoo.co.uk> To: <ENG-NORTH-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 2:01 PM Subject: Re: [N'Yorks] THOMPSON - Kirkbymoorside > hi I have the 1861 census index for yorks in the course of preperation by > the East yorks fam his socc. about 80% complete and already there are more > than enough candidates for your ancestor.
