    3. Hello As I understand it you are quite correct Susan and all parishes were not available to LDS for microfilming. Philimores Atlas lists those parishes and dates which were covered. Unfortunately I don't think this is available online but many libraries have a copy. Some county records offices list the parishes covered (or not) and some of these can be found by an online search. Durham Record Office, for instance, lists parishes indexed on IGI in Handlist 8 and this can be viewed online. I don't think N Yorkshire is so helpful! 3. Hi I agree with below However I believe that some of the parishes information entered on the IGI are not from the parish registers but from the bishops transcripts similarly some of the films of parish entries obtainable from the family history centres are also bishops transcripts so checking of the original parish register (mostly available on micro fitche) I consider to be necessary kind regards John Ferguson ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Dodshon" <billdodshon@blueyonder.co.uk> To: <ENG-NORTH-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 6:13 PM Subject: Re: [N'Yorks] LDS Centres > Hello > > As I understand it you are quite correct Susan and all parishes were not > available to LDS for microfilming. 3. Hi Yes, I agree John. I discovered a film was taken from BT's but as it happened it was a big help as a page was obviously missing from the original register. Regards.
