A I was not looking for anyone who would be in that section, we didn,t go there, but it may be possible to E mail them and ask when Adoptions became legal by law. Regarding the forms for certificates, when you are applying at the offices yourself, there is a section on the reverse side which you can fill in with the particulars of the person whose certificate you are seeking. So that if you are seeking Mary BROWN whose parents were John BROWN and Elizabeth BROWN [nee. SMITH] and the listing in the book does not give the Father's name, but the birth dates are the same, you can apply for more than one certificate, and as long as you have filled the reverse side and signed it, they will search for the certificate with the correct Father's name, and not charge you for the others, at least that is how they did when we went. However we were told that if we submitted more than one search for Mary Brown, but did not fill in and sign the reverse sign we could be charge for each search. Regards, Pam, in Arizona. ==== ENG-NORTH-YORKS Mailing List ==== ROLL CALLS? Not permitted unless instituted by the List Admin. But post your interests and areas of search often.
