Hi Johanna, We were there last year and they were accepting applications for birth certs. In fact we put in, and paid for, 3 applications for one birth certificate,as we were not sure which one was the correct one, we filled it in on reverse side, and when the folks there figured out which one was correct for us, they refunded the money we paid for the other two, and forwarded it with the certificate within two weeks, to my daughter in Canada. Thought it was great service. The thing that people in the UK don't understand about odereing Certs. from out of the country, is that we have a VERY DIFFICULT TIME sending money to the UK. From here in Arizona , if I want to order a Certificate from the UK and need to send 8 Pounds by mail, the banks will charge me another $15 to make out an International Money Order. So my Certificate will then cost me more than double the price, and the only way around this is to send cash, which obviously is not a good idea. That is why I always steer people who are seeking to order from the UK, to The Family Records Center as you can pay by Credit card, they are the only Record Centers who take credit cards.
