    2. Neither Thomas nor Jane Robinson appear in the Guisborough MIs (St. Nicholas churchyard and Guisborough cemetery). I also looked in Lofthouse and Moorsholm MIs and they do not appear in either. Sorry. K. Moore Chicago, Illinois

    3. Thank you for checking the MIs for Guisborough. Skelton is only covered on the NBI from 1813. There is a Jane ROBINSON aged 79 (of Guisborough) buried at Skelton in 1819 who could be Thomas's wife. The Thomas ROBINSON (Yeoman of Skelton) I am looking for died between 12th May 1806 (date of his will), and 23rd February 1808 (when his wife, and the trustees renounced their rights under the will, and two sons were made executors). I will check with Teesside Archives regarding the burial for Thomas. I need this to find his age and calculate his birth year - to hopefully find the previous generation. As Thomas was described as "Yeoman of Skelton" when he married his wife Jane (Stewart) at Eston in 1764 perhaps he had already inherited from his father by that date. However, his will names two of his farms as Aysdale Gate and nearby Tidkinhow. He also had land at Moorsholme which he had intended to have sold. As his son Robert was farming at Moorsholme after his death this obviously didn't happen. Perhaps the identification of these properties may help me in the future with getting further back. From the internet I see that there is still a farm/small holding a Aysdale Gate.
