    3. If it helps, SUGGIT is a well known name in Great Ayton, near Guisborough, North Yorkshire. 'SUGGITTS' is a very well known ice cream shop in Great Ayton - I was brought up on them and go back to get some whenever I can. I have come across the name several times in my research (not connected) and have noted that there are a few of them mentioned around that area. Hope this helps - if not, at least try the ice cream sometime! Her parents were Matthew FOWLER and Hannah ?. Matthew FOWLER was born about 1784 and died 13th June 1854 at Coatham. His wife Hannah was born about 1784 and died 26th January 1862 also at Coatham. I believe they also had a son called Jonathan born about 1826 as all three are on the 1841 Census for the township of Kirkleatham. I am trying to find out where Matthew and Hannah Fowler were married and to determine Hannah's last name.I have tried the IGI to find Hannah may have been a Suggett as well, marrying Kirkleatham/Yearby in 1808. I am also researching the name SUGGETT in North Yorkshire and George Suggett's father John came from Yorkshire and he was born about 1796 but I don't know where exactly. I don't live in lovely Yorkshire to research so any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. 3. Thank you Jane, I noted on the GRO index there were a few Suggetts in the Guisborough area - don't know yet if there are any connections. But thank you for the ice cream story! very interesting. When I travel up to Yorks for some research I must make a point of trying some !!
