Hello Kathryn, I was researching Foxton of Kirby Misperton for someone else - although my husband does have Foxton in his line, they are from Hovingham and I have not made any connection with the family in K.Misperton or Scarbro. The Dowsons were - and still are widely spread in the area. My husband's ancestor was Mary Dowson, born 1793. The person I was looking for at K.Misperton/Scarbro was an Edith Foxton - if I remember right, she was born about 1880.
