Hi Ailsa, Ripon Historical Society has a series of indexes to the Baines 1822-3 Directory (covering all Yorkshire). These are available by wapentake in booklet form (5 for the North Riding, 8 for the West Riding) at either 2 or 3 GBP each, depending on size. The data is held on a searchable database, so an individualised name index is possible (price by negotiation, according to size); also CD format if preferred (not sure about price).
