Sue, Thanks for the offer to check the Sowerby NBI, I know there was a Susanna Sayer who died there in the mid 1800s, and some other Sayers. I was very kindly sent a list of some NBI entries for Yorkshire recently but havnt had the opportunity to look at it so dont know if the data includes Sowerby. Also, am I right in understanding that the NBI index only lists the names and doesnt give any details (like `wife of..., etc). If so, how would I get full details? Best wishes laurel Sayer Surrey (researching all instances of Sayer and varients in Yorkshire and Durham) -----Original Message----- From: sue taylor [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday 09 January 2006 21:10 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NYorks] RE: Thirsk & Sowerby Monumental Inscriptions - SAYER Hi Laurel, Forget to mention I don't have the Sowerby MIs. Had a quick check and Thirsk MIs seem to range from late 1700s onwards. Do you have access to the National Burial Index, if not let me know and I'll see what I can find for you.
