Hi there, i have just joined and thought i would state my name interests! My name is Laura Broughton and have lived in Northallerton, NYorks all my life (Although i am currently completing my last year at university in bournemouth). My grandfather ernest george edward broughton was adopted but kept the broughton name. He is originally from bedford and i havnt really followed that up much because of the adoption thing (he was adopted circa 1921). My other interests have been with the following names and areas: harland: northallerton, thirsk, borrowby leake area steele: see above plus south otterington hyde/hide: see above cooper: northallerton and stockton on tees oxborough: as above hardy: leyburn, bedale and northallerton stott: leyburn and bedale welton: stockton on tees, lincoln (glandford brigg, market raisen, melton ross etc) tomlinson: lincoln, especially elizabeth tomlinson and her father george tomlinson. thompson: northallerton (married into the harlands) ingledew: northallerton, borrowby, leake and newcastle area. Thats a quick description, and i know a couple on there are subjects for other discussion groups (eg: newcastle, lincolnshire etc) but i put them anyway because of their connections with n.yorks areas. If anyone is interested in the same names dont hesitate to drop me a line, ive made particularly good progress with the welton and ingledew lines, but would love to make more discoveries on the harland line.
