Hi, If anyone is planning a visit to Northallerton would you be so kind and check out the Burials for Rhoda HARTLEY. She died in Leeds Infirmary on 30 September 1840 but the death was not registered until 24 November 1840 by H L THORNTON (in attendance). Her husband Elias HARTLEY was born in Knaresborough in 1803 but he has disappeared after his youngest son William was baptised in 1836. I had assumed that Rhoda was buried in Leeds but have been told there is no Rhoda or Elias in Leeds Burial Index. The children are with Elias' mother in Knaresborough for the 1841 Census so I am wondering if Rhoda's body was taken back to Knaresborough and buried there. The whole thing is an absolute mystery.
