    3. Hi Dennis, Yes my Hunter ancestors do indeed come from Co.Durham. The main locations are Sunderland, South Shields, Gateshead, and Whickam. Many were blacksmiths employed in the shipbuilding industry. So far I've managed to get back to 1790 with certainty and possibly to 1709 with a little imagination. I need to check out some parish records. Family lore said we had a scottish connection but so far I have not discovered it. What I have discovered is that there were an awful lot of Hunters around in the north east. If I find a connection I'll let you know.     3. Hi Derek and Dennis Any Hunter's from the Alnwick Northumberland area in either tree? I am twice related to that branch. I suspect they were from Scotland also but have no definite eveidense yet.
