    1. Re: Ripon Cemetery
    2. Hi Ailsa, Ripon Historical Society is offline because we are currently re-vamping the website (these things always take more time than one realises.....). Contact details only are available at present. For Ripon Cemetery try the Bereavement Services Office at Stonefall Cemetery in Harrogate, where the original burial ledgers are now kept; these have been computerised and contain details of date of death, name, age and occupation of the deceased and address at time of death, also name and address of the grave owner and any other people buried in the same plot. Contact via Harrogate Council website: _http://www.harrogate.gov.uk/immediacy-966_ (http://www.harrogate.gov.uk/immediacy-966) The staff there are extremely helpful, but do remember that their time for FH enquiries is limited; the main business of the Service is the burial and cremation of the dead and these concerns must be a priority. So don't be surprised if you do not get an immediate response. The cemetery MIs for Ripon have been transcribed by RHS&FHG and are newly available on microfiche from the Publications Officer, Derek Edmondson. If you need contact details let me know; I don't yet have my own copy so can't yet do a look-up for you. if you are happy to wait a few days mine should have arrived by then! Best wishes, Roz
