Hello Im not sure what sort of connection it might be, my Christopher Thompson Harland was born in 1898. His father was William Harland and his mother Sarah Thompson. I havnt traced her line yet, although i speculate that her parents were Miles Thompson and Mary Ann Ingledew. Im not sure if its correct, but i know that the Ingledews were from Newcastle and holidayed in the countryside at Northallerton every summer. I can just imagine the young Mary Ann falling for the young handsome farm worker where she was staying, so romantic! But, i cant really be sure of the Thompson lineage, all i know is that he has that as part of his name due to his mother. It was quite common to put the surnames of both parents in a childs name. Im sorry i havnt been much help, but if any of it sounds familiar, especially the name "Miles Thompson" and the areas Leake/Borrowby etc then let me know :-) Laura ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacqueline Harris" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 04, 2006 11:31 AM Subject: Re: [NYorks] Ailsa Petrie: a question! > Laura, > I was very interested to see your reference to a Christopher Thompson > HARLAND. > In my THOMPSON family tree there are 5 Christopher THOMPSONs dating from > 1699 in Northallerton including my great great grandfather born 1824.
