    3. Hi Mark: No it was QE II although he'd be too old to still be there. It wasn't until I started reading about how many of your relatives worked for - dare we say it - nobility, that I thought there may be a possibility that there was some truth to the "chef story" - knowing how the royals like to chose from staff who have a history with the peerage. Anyway they always called him Dickie Featherstone so perhaps his name was Richard. I would assume a birthdate of about 1905 to 1930 - somewhere in there and I believe his relations lived somewhere between Seamer (possibly in the village) and Staxton Hill which I think is west or s. west of Seamer (there's a very quaint pub up there by the way) anyway I haven't been around that area for forty years so I could be all wet. I still have relatives in Seamer that I correspond with (nothing so fancy as email though) I could ask and maybe get the story (if there is one) straight. Its up to you. 3. Mark: I found three death entries for the surname FEATHERSTONE today when looking at some Rillington parish records, Mary, Sarah and Alice. If you are interested in the details I made a note of them because I have another person who is also researching Featherstone.
