    3. Margaret, You may already have this. . Topcliffe records go back to the 16c. Burial records do not always give the address, usually just the parish. Next time I am in Northallerton records office I will have a look for you. Parish Thirsk--- Here is what I know of my SMITH family.----- In 1818 John SMITH and his wife Jane WAYNE immigrated, with their family and Elizabeth Brown SMITH, mother of John to the USA. They settled in Dearborn County, Indiana. I am assuming that Elizabeth Brown SMITH, b. 1750 who died in Indiana in 1823, had already buried her husband, Thomas SMITH born 1741, Thirsk. Question: Can anyone located at Thirsk the date of burial for Thomas SMITH b. 1741 ? I am trying to locate the land/farm/place where my SMITH family once lived; thus I feel that I need to find a will if one was written. Thanks for any help. Margaret L.
