Scorborough, not Scarborough, is actually the village covered by ENG-EAST-YORKS@rootsweb.com. They are often confused for each other. As per Genuki (work of the wonderful Colin Hinson) "SCORBOROUGH, a parish in the wapentake of Harthill; 5 miles N. of Beverley." (East Riding) and "SCARBOROUGH, a parish in the wapentake of Pickering Lythe, and liberty of Scarborough, in 54 degrees 17½ minutes N. latitude, and 22 minutes W. longitude, 17 miles from Pickering, 21 from Whitby, and 22 from Malton." (North Riding) Paul Don Coulson wrote: > Scarborough is also covered by ENG-EAST-YORKS@rootsweb.com > > Don. > > >
