Baptisms in Whitby include one on 19 December, 1819, of John Hamilton, son of William and Margaret, labourer, born on 9th December. There seems to be no burial in Whitby corresponding to this John up to 1837. Nor does the marriage of William and Margaret appear in the transcripts I have in the CD of the Whitby Parish Registers from the Yorkshire Archaelogical Society. Hope this helps.
