Hi Michael: Some five years ago, while researching my WINSPEAR family, I had a few emails on this list from Ron Kerrison that included local Glaisdale records from various sources that he had collected, including the Glaisdale Churchwardens records. This may be a useful source for your William HARRISON as well. They covered most of the 19th century. Ron actually lives a short walk away from the workplace of my John WINSPEAR, Lealholm Lawns Farm, where John died suddenly in 1858: 1858 Feb 6 - JOHN WINSPEAR, AGE 41, HOULSYKE, died suddenly when working at Lawns Farm in the employ of Mr Foster, leaves widow and 6 small children. One of the six children, Eleanor WINSPEAR, married William SAWDON of Whitby, a watchmaker and jeweller whose shop was featured in one of the Frank Meadows Sutcliffe photos (in A Fourth Selectiion). A photo of William and Eleanor on their 50th wedding anniversary is in another book, by Colin Waters, and also has been passed down in my family photo collection. William was my great-grandfather, which makes John my 2ggf . I have a lateral connection to the HARRISON family through Mary WELLBURN who married Fred HARRISON Dec Q 1902 at Whitby. Henry WELLBURN was my 3ggf on the SAWDON side. Mary was a granddaughter of his. I can try to reach Ron if it's OK to send him your email address. Please confirm by replying to me off-list. Regards, Martin Willcocks Taylorsville, UT, USA. Informant on the Entry of Death was William Thompson - would be interested if anyone knows how he was related to William Harrison (assuming they were related since he was present at the death). Was there a local newspaper at that time? Would someone be able to check it for an obituary for William?
