According to the IGI JOHN BOWES'(Chr 15 Jan 1809) parents were EDWARD BOWES and JANE. I found an Edward Bowes who died in Melonsby at the age of 42 so a suggested birth year would be c1775. Children from the marriage appear to be: Elizabeth Bowes (1805-1805) JOHN BOWES (1809- ) George Bowes (1811-1811) Marianne Bowes (1813- ) Elizabeth Bowes (1817- ) All above born in MELONSBY. I can't find any marriage between Edward Bowes and Jane?
