I have relatives who left North Elmham Norfolk in the early 1860's moved first to Ferryhill and then to West Hartlepool there names were Tombling and Peart. One family moved to Eston to work in the mines and the remainder stayed in West Hartlepool. Another surname is Francis. I believe CFHS published information about families moving from Norfolk to Mbro. I am particularly interested in the Tomblings as it is an unusual name, am willing to share my info ----- Original Message ---- From: "eng-north-yorks-request@rootsweb.com" <eng-north-yorks-request@rootsweb.com> To: eng-north-yorks@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 2:05:14 AM Subject: ENG-NORTH-YORKS Digest, Vol 3, Issue 16 Today's Topics: 1. I am researching the familes CRANNESS, KERRIDGE and KERRISON, all from the Wymondham area of Norfolk, who migrated to Eston to work in the Ironstone mines from the late 1860s onwards. I would love to hear from anyone descended from these families, or others from the same area. I am doing a one-name study on the Cranness family, so any information there would help me enormously. Very best wishes Sue Gover __________________________________________________________ Sent from Yahoo! The iron industry seemed to have brought them to the North East! If you have anything to share or if I can help (albeit I dont have any other names in Norfolk!) please let me know!
