Hi everyone, this is my first posting on this list. I am researching the familes CRANNESS, KERRIDGE and KERRISON, all from the Wymondham area of Norfolk, who migrated to Eston to work in the Ironstone mines from the late 1860s onwards. I would love to hear from anyone descended from these families, or others from the same area. I am doing a one-name study on the Cranness family, so any information there would help me enormously. I have relatives who migrated to Middlesbrough area from Norfolk in the late 1870's from Old Buckenden/Attleborough area- David and Emma Sparrow's daughter Emma married Theophilus Wetherley (Witherly and other spellings) who initially relocated to Escombe in Durham and then to Middlesbrough. The iron industry seemed to have brought them to the North East! If you have anything to share or if I can help (albeit I dont have any other names in Norfolk!) please let me know!
