Hi Dave, I believe we corresponded once regarding a marriage between Ann Thompson of Richmond and John GELDART in the early 1800s. The North Riding registers are largely held at the County Record Office in Northallerton (Richmond certainly is). See their website: _http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=3134_ (http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=3134) A number have been transcribed and are available for consultation there. Some are at the Borthwick Institute in York, where they also hold an index of Yorkshire wills which they will search on request: _http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/bihr/_ (http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/bihr/) . Some parish registers have been transcribed by Cleveland FHS and are available as printed booklets; they also have numerous transcripts of MIs for various parishes. A catalogue of publications is available on their website: _http://www.clevelandfhs.org.uk/_ (http://www.clevelandfhs.org.uk/) A number of parish registers have been published in transcript by the Yorkshire Parish register Society, several are now available on CD or microfiche for purchase: _http://www.yorkshireparishregisters.com/contactus.htm_ (http://www.yorkshireparishregisters.com/contactus.htm) Not sure if this is of help. Which specific parishes are you interested in? Regards, Roz researching GELDART, JOY, WALBRAN, WRIGHT (http://www.yorkshireparishregisters.com/contactus.htm)
