Is there any chance that it could be Fencote which is in Kirby Fleetham, outside your supposed area I know but just in case they were not where you expected them to be! Pricegen.com has old maps and gazetteers. Pull up their site, then click 'Resources', 'Expert links-England', then bookmark the page with the large list of links. I go there often. Under 'Old Maps' I found 5 listings for "Olcote", 2 in S Yorks near Doncaster, 3 in W Yorks near Keighley and Pontefract. Nothing for "Folcote", however. Happy searching. Dianne Krogh

Dear Listers, My wife descends from the PICKERSGILL family of Spennithorne and, from what I have worked out so far, there were quite a lot of them there in the 1700s. If anyone else links with them I would be pleased to hear about it. Yours, etc. Geoffrey Woollard in Cambridgeshire.

Hello, I'm a Norwegian lady and I'm brand new to this list! For several years I've doing family search in Norway, Germany and the US for my family, and this will be my very first family research in England! I do hope that anyone on the list will be able to find my son-in-law's paternal grandfather, Alan Reginal Clark b. 4 February 1920 in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. He got married to a Norwegian and they had a son in London in 1946. The mother and child later returned to Norway. I'll be grateful for any assistance! Thank you! Kindly regards, Cathrine Just
Macha, Thank you for the suggestion. I do know that some of the Northallerton cemetery records records are online, but they are not complete and don't include the names I am interested in.. The Council allowed all the records to be transcribed in recent years and it is those records that are held at the Records Office. Hello Richard - I have HARLANDs but they are in Kirby Knowle, near Thirsk. The only suggestion I can make is for you to trawl through the New Malton Parish Records (probably at your nearest LDS centre - which you can probably order through them). You may be able to glean whether John was otp (of this parish) and the same for Rebecca - perhaps you will strike gold. Regards. Hi all, If anyone has PR's or MI lists for Wensley (or neighbouring parishes) I would appreciate a look-up for Jane CRADOCK (nee ELLERTON) who married John Cradock at Catterick in 1856. As their two children were baptised at Wensley (Jane Ellen in 1856, John in 1858; the latter dying shortly afterwards) it seems probable that both they an their parents were buried at Wensley. Any information on this family would be welcome.
