    3. Hi all I have been chasing down some more of the PERCIVALs in my tree. They are based around Carperby/Aysgarth/Askrigg for much of the 19C and I have got one Eliza Percival, a widow aged 59, whose occupation according to the 1881 census is "Monthly Nurse and C". 1. Re: [N'Yorks] Marriage Reg Information
    2. margaret o'shea
    3. The marriage certificate would give the bride's father's name and his occupation - from this you should know her maiden name (unless she was illegitimate). It won't give the date or details of her previous marriage. If the certificate gives her age (sometimes it just says "full age"), then this may enable you to find her via Familysearch or Free BMD. 1. RE: [N'Yorks] Marriage Reg Information
    2. Mike Hutchinson
    3. Ailsa The information will include her former married name and her maiden name but not the date of her former marriage or its end date. It will include her father's name and occupation (as and if known to the bride), and if he was deceased, will usually say so. It will have no details of her mother - other than her name/signature in the slightly unusual event she was a witness (and even then it will not identify the relationship of the witnesses to the couple). I'd like to check her date of birth and any information about her parents which may be recorded. (Her place of birth is given as Sodbury, Yorks, in the 1901 census, but since there doesn't appear to be such a place Sedbury seems likely, especially as she married a Thomas COULSON from Hartlepool) Thanks for any help.
