    1. [N'Yorks] New Family Letters Website
    2. Sanders, Robert (DfTE - LLD1b)
    3. I am in the process of starting a new section of my website where transcripts may be posted of family letters relating to UK families, either sent internally in UK or from/to other parts of the World. I have already tested the interest in the idea on two of my mailing list and found considerable interest and a number of people willing to share their family letters. The idea behind the site is that many family letters include references to unknown relatives or unrelated people who might be known to some other researcher. I have, myself, been the recipient of such information in relation to my own family and my wife's, and it has proved extremely useful in my research. In addition some of these letters contain information on local occurrences, views on national events and other information of general historical interest. Some of us may also have old postcards collected for their picture side which include names, addresses and short notes to family and friends. Details of these would also be welcome for inclusion. If anyone has any views or wishes to make a contribution of a transcript please get in touch with me direct at 1017043110@compuserve.com for more information. I will be away from home from 9 June until 13 June but will reply on my return. Bob Sanders Cardiff Wales

    3. Hi Sandra > There is a James Lund Teasdale interred at St Aidans Church, Gillamoor > near Kirkbymoorside. > You can see details at > http://www.staithes.demon.co.uk/Aidanindex.html Many thanks for this link. I had already bookmarked your excellent site - and am looking forward to your future projects. Next comes an apology to Laurence, Sandie and anyone else connected to Joseph TEASDALE et al. I implied in an earlier email that Joseph TEASDALE brother of George TEASDALE was married to Hannah LUND sister to Lucy LUND (married to the above George TEASDALE). I would just like to point out after checking my tree that George and Joseph were brothers BUT Hannah and Lucy were NOT sisters. Lucy LUND parents were Michael and Hannah LUND Hannah LUND parents were James and Ann LUND Profuse apologies to all. 1. [N'Yorks] BELL - Sutton under Whitstonecliffe
    2. lizzy johansen
    3. My g.g.grandfather, John BELL (b. Great Smeaton l8l7) had a younger sister Mary Stephenson BELL who was born at Sockburn (prob. Girsby) in l825. I believe the family stayed in the Gt. Smeaton area however Mary died at Sutton under Whitestonecliffe and was buried back at Gt. Smeaton on 22nd May l834 aged "nine and a half". I am intrigued to know whether the BELLS actually moved to the Sutton under Whitestonecliffe area at this time so wondered whether any newspaper records might have survived from l834 - and, if so, which would cover S.U.W. Thank you Diane Johansen

Anybody interested in MOOR/MOORE please contact me. My ancestor was born about 1785, and one clue tells us his mother might have been Frances. He appears in Virginia when married in 1808 but we cannot find him previous to that in American records. Thanks, Annie in breezy Idaho, USA Ann Pettijohn Tomlinson annt51@cableone.net

Joseph TEASDALE was brother to my GGG Grandfather George TEASDALE. 3. In answer to the query "Looking for the graves of Thomas and Mary Wilkinson nee Pybus, last known to have been in their 60's and living in Welbury in 1891 census. " There is no Wilkinson headstone in Welbury, St. Leonard's Churchyard. In 'Welbury - a local history', the only Wilkinson I could find was in the Roll of Honour for World War I. George Wilkinson, Private in the Yorkshire Regiment is listed. There were some Wilkinson's in Appleton Wiske, including Thomas Wilkinson who was listed as the father of Henry Wilkinson at his marriage to Elizabeth Cranson in 1897; and at the marriage of Grace Wilkinson to William Ellar in 1898; and at the marriage of Ada Wilkinson to Jonathan Dedman in 1900; and at the marriage of George Wilkinson to Elizabeth Day in 1908. There were also a number of other Wilkinsons in Appleton Wiske. Additionally there was a Joseph Pybus who married Margaret Steel in 1859 in Appleton Wiske.
