I think someone recently was asking this question. I grew up in Rodney Street and then Brookland Road off the Woodlands in Birkenhead but always thought of myself as being from Birkenhead rather than Tranmere but now when I see old maps of the area it seems that anywhere to the Woodlands side of Borough Road is classed as Tranmere. I always thought that you had to get out towards Green Lane before you were in Tranmere. Have I been wrong all these years? Don't get me wrong on this. My family have roots in Green Lane, Helmingham Road, Farm Road, Old Chester Road and various other streets in Tranmere and I am proud of that but I am just confused about exactly what are the boundaries of Tranmere and Birkenhead.
