I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the location of Sherdley Street. I have my McIntyre family living here in a railway owned property, from around 1940 onwards. I cannot find it on any maps although certificates state the Abecromby district - is this the university area? I believe Walnut Street (the McIntyre's previous address) is in the same area. Also, 126 Smithdown Road - is this the address of the Smithdown Road Institution, the old workhouse site? A relative died here in 1936 and it wasn't his home address. Any help much appreciated. Best wishes Jess McKenna nee McIntyre
Sherdley St was off Crown Street, and ran parallel with Little Woolton Street.(from 1928 map Liverpool) Walnut St was off Grove St - on the other side of Crown St. Alan Johnson ----- Original Message ----- From: <JessMcKenn@aol.com> To: <ENG-MERSEYSIDE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 8:09 PM Subject: [ENG-MERSEY] Searching for addresses >I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the location of Sherdley Street. >I > have my McIntyre family living here in a railway owned property, from > around > 1940 onwards.
