Hi Ron/Maureen I have very little info on my FITZPATRICKs. I have great-great grandparents Denis and Bridget FITZPATRICK who were born in Roscommon, Ireland. Their daughter, Catherine, my great grandmother was also born in Roscommon around 1871. I have only found the family in Staffordshire on censuses but I do wonder if there was a family link with Liverpool. My father, Tom DURKIN, was born in Stoke on Trent in 1919. He left school at 14 to help the family (his father was a miner and had many accidents in the pit so with 8 children, money was tight). He didn't have a trade until he joined the RAF in around 1950 so I can't think why, in the mid/late 1940s, he would have gone to Liverpool to find work unless he had family there? And the family links could have been FITZPATRICK, RAFTERY or DURKIN. How I wish I'd asked my parents more while they were alive.
