That's nice but its Ancestry.com which in the main has a lot of US records and very little UK data for the names typed in. Signing up for the free account does require a first name a last name and an e-mail address which - forgive the cynicism - suggests they will pester the life out of you to sign up. I just followed the instructions and, surprise, surprise, it remembered me way back to a time when I signed up not realising that the majority of records would be US based. They didnt recognise my password, and offered me the option of changing my password which I did. They sent me an e-mail and a link to click on to get back and search for free. What I see in front of me now is a page of Account options, subscriptions, no free access. It recognised my details (I registered ages ago and have since paid up to ancestry.co.uk) but it is giving me free access to ancestry.com. Just wish I had found loads of ancestors who'd emigrated, I've only got one definite and a very kind list member had already found that one for me.
