Hi again folks, just when I thought I'd run out of questions, guess what? Can anyone tell me if in the late 1850s-1860 two people of marine occupations e.g.ship stewards could marry on board their merchant vessel? presuming they were off-shore? would the marriage then be registered back in britain as their home port?
