>From today's "Southport Visiter" newspaper "DISCOVER WHO YOU REALLY ARE AT FAIR The North West Group of Family History Societies will be holding its Annual Family History Fair at the Floral Hall in Southport from 10 pm to 4 pm on Saturday next, 23rd September 2006. Anyone experienced in family research or who is interested in undertaking genealogy as a hobby will find a wealth of facilities and knowledge at their disposal if they attend this informative event, at the Floral Hall on The Promenade. It will be the ideal place for people to shed light on any missing links in their family tree. there will be more than 100 stalls presented by various family history societies from all over Britain, offering a vast body of expertise. These regional groups will be bolstered by the General Register Office, which will be in attendance, to answer queries regarding birth, marriage and death certificates. There will also be booksellers, map dealers, family tree specialists and expert genealogy advisors. Three guest speakers will give lectures covering essential topics such as research, record keeping and using software to aid ones inquiry. Admission is £2 for adults and free for children accompanied by an adult. All profits are donated to educational facilitators in the genealogical sphere." Marged
